Cheat’s Vegan Crumble

This easy-peasy crumble is the perfect dessert on a cold Winter’s night! Nothing beats a good crumble. We used apples in ours, but feel free to mix it up with berries, pear, whatever takes your fancy! Add BioCreamy at the end for a great accompaniment to a comforting dish.

Ingredients

3 medium apples, peeled, cored and sliced to 1cm thick

2 Tbsp caster sugar

175g Plain flour

110g Caster sugar

110g BioButtery

1 Tbsp rolled oats

1 Tbsp demerara sugar

BioCreamy to serve

Method

1. Preheat oven to 180 °C. In a 20cm square baking dish place apples and sprinkle over 2 Tbsp caster sugar. Mix apples and sugar then flatten into the baking dish with your hands.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and remaining caster sugar with a big pinch of salt. Then rub in the BioButtery with your fingers until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs. Make sure all flour has touched the BioButtery.

3. Pour crumble mix over apples and distribute evenly. You can pat down the crumble mix with the back of a fork to ensure the crumble holds together and crisps up evenly. Then sprinkle over the oats and demerara sugar evenly.

4. Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden and apples feel soft. Leave to cool for about 10 minutes, then serve with BioCreamy.

Enjoy!
